Seiko Silverwave J12082 from 1963 (Serviced with New Crystal)

Recognised as Seiko's first serious move to creating a dive watch, the Seiko J12082 features a two-part screw down case back and an inner rotating countdown bezel. 

The Seiko J12082 is also the first watch to have the famous Seiko Tsunami logo etched onto the case back. The existence of the tsunami logo (coupled with marketing materials) reinforced the idea that the J12082 is indeed designed by Seiko for diving in the 60s.

A few variant of the J12082 was offered for sale in the 60s and the example we present for sale is the clean white dial variant with a black inner rotating bezel. 

The watch case is in excellent condition with common hairline scratches seen. Light signs of aging can be seen on the dial. Loss of lume can be seen on the bezel and the minutes hand. The watch was serviced in August 2020 and is fitted with a brand new crystal for clarity. 

The watch comes on a brand new 19mm nato strap.

Serial number has been covered for privacy.
