Seiko Red Alpinist SCVF009 from 1995

For sale is a highly sought after Seiko SCVF009.

The Seiko Alpinist collection is one of the most highly sought after collection by fellow seiko collectors. Originally created for Japanese mountain climbers, the alpinist collection often feature an inner bezel compass.

With a similar dial layout and case shape many might mistake the SCVF009 with the SARB017 at the first glance. Upon looking further, one will begin to notice the few differences the SARB017 possess.

The Seiko SCVF009 sets itself apart from the other SARB017 with broader cathedral hands, smaller case size of 37mm and the the red "Alpinist" printing at 6.

The one key factor that makes the SCVF009 superior than the SARB017 is the heart of it; the calibre 4s15.

The 4s15 movement is the descendant of the revered Daini 52 movement. The 4s15 beats at 28000bph, has 40hours power reserve and an accuracy of +25/-15. All this which is similar to the current 8L movement other than the power reserve.

The watch case is in excellent condition with common hairline scratches seen. The watch dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. Light hairline scratches can be seen on the crystal. A brand new sapphire crystal can be installed by request.

The watch comes a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
