Seiko Alpinist Champion 850 85899 from 1963

For sale is a Seiko 85899.

The Seiko Champion Alpinist series is the second series of Alpinist to be produced by Seiko (After Seiko Laurel Alpinist) with the largest variant offered.

It wasn't until the 90s that Seiko decided to resurrect the Alpinist line by producing SCVF005, SCVF005 and SCVF009 (famously known as the Red Alpinist).

The Seiko 85899 Alpinist offered for sale is probably the only Seiko Alpinist to be produced with Gold plated case (no physical Gold plated J13033 was ever seen).

The watch is in a well worn condition other than some loss of plating on the lugs and some aging seen on the dial. The original engraving on the case back is faint but visible. Replating can be done with additional cost.

The watch comes with a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.

Serial number has been covered for privacy.
