For sale is a Seiko 4826-9000.
The Seiko 4826-9000 packs all there is that a Seiko collector is looking for. The watch plays a big part in the history of Seiko by being the first quartz watch powered by thr solar energy.
The 4826 calibre made its first appearance alongside the revered Seiko Superior 4883 calibre and Grand Quartz 4843 calibre.
The movement is capable of an accuracy of +-10s/month accuracy at the time of production with a 10 years battery life with the original capacitor.
The watch also has the advance seconds forwarding technology found in the Seiko Superior 4883 calibre. The watch advance to the next 10 mins mark when the crown is being pulled to the second position.
Moving pass the impeccable watch movement, the watch is decorated with a multifaceted dial that is hardly seen in any other Seiko watches.
The dial is two toned with a pigeon blue colour on the outer circumference and space blue colour in the middle that extends out through the raised centric minutes marker to the indices at every 5 minutes interval.
The watch is in mint condition with minimal sign of aging except for common hairline scratches around the case and original bracelet. The Solar Quartz printing has interesting turned wavy, how that happened still puzzles me.
The watch is currently powered by a SR43 battery as the original capacitor is no longer in production. The original bracelet is present which is a real bonus as the bracelet is commonly replaced.
