For sale is a hardly seen Seiko SCFF005.
The SUS (meaning "Simple" and "Strong") collection was released by Seiko in the 90s targeting young watch collectors.
The SUS collection features military and aviation inspired pieces and was well received during the 8 years of production.
There were only two group of mechanical watch produced for the SUS collection; the famous SUS 4s15 field watch (SCFF001 and SCFF002) and the underappreciated 4s12 GMT watch (SCFF005, SCFF006 and SCFF007).
The SCFF005 remains the rarest and most sought after variant of the 4s12 GMT.
The SCFF005 features a matt black dial with bold contrasting printing decorated with "shark tooth" indices at 3, 6, 9 and 12. The dial gets a splash of red with the "S" logo seen across all SUS collection.
The watch dial is then paired with a set of flat white hands for greater visibility.
The dial is then hugged by a rotating 24hours chapter ring for telling time of a second time zone.
The watch has an interesting see-through caseback with the world map printed on it as the watch is a GMT.
The Seiko 4S movement is a product of the remaking of the revered Seiko Daini 52 movements from the 70s. The 4s movement can be seen in some of the most popular Seiko such as the Seiko Red Alpinist, Brightz and Credor.
The calibre 4s12 powering this beast remains one of the most undervalued mechanical GMT watches. The watch features everything the 4s15 has from 28800bph to the daily deviation of +25/day and - 15s/day.
The SCFF005 is definitely on our list as one of the must have for a Seiko collectors and it is definitely undervalued for what is offering.
The watch is in mint condition with only some light hairline on the case, crystal and bracelet.
