For sale is a Seiko SJE061K1.
The Seiko Alpinist collection is one of the most highly sought after collection by fellow seiko collectors. Originally created for Japanese mountain climbers, the alpinist collection often feature an inner bezel compass.
The Seiko SJE061K1 is a rare Southeast Asia variant of the highly sought after red alpinist scvf009. The key difference between the two lies with the text situated above 6.
The red alpinist branding with the 3 lines of text were substituted with a simple "sports 200" branding for the Southeast Asia market.
The alpinist mountain logo was also substituted with the tsunami logo on the case back.
It is also worth noting that the SJE061K1 came on a Seiko stamped double lock clasp bracelet while the SCVF009 came on a leather strap. The other red alpinist watches came on bracelet but the clasp are single lock and unstamped.
The watch is powered by the same 4s15 calibre as the red alpinist.
The 4s15 movement is the descendant of the revered Daini 52 movement. The 4s15 beats at 28000bph, has 40hours power reserve and an accuracy of +25/-15. All this which is similar to the current 8L movement other than the power reserve.
The watch is in immaculate condition little to no signs if usage seen. The dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. The crystal is near perfect condition with slight chip on the edge between 4 to 5. A new old stock crystal will be given with the purchase and can be installed upon request.
The watch comes on its original bracelet that fits up to 6.75" wrist.
