For sale is a Seiko J12082.

Recognized as Seiko's first serious move to creating a dive watch, the Seiko J12082 features a two-part screw down case back and an inner rotating countdown bezel.

The Seiko J12082 is also the first watch to have the famous Seiko Tsunami logo etched onto the case back. The existence of the tsunami logo (coupled with marketing materials) reinforced the idea that the J12082 is indeed designed by Seiko for diving in the 60s.

A few variant of the J12082 was offered for sale in the 60s and the example we present for sale is the highly sought after Starburst dial variant.

The watch case is in excellent other than some common hairline scratches seen on the case. Light signs of aging can be seen on the dial between 11 and 12 and in the middle of the dial. As with most of the J12082, the original etching on the back have grown faint. A pair of NOS hands is fitted on the watch along with a brand new crystal for clarity.

The watch comes on a matching Seiko bracelet.
