Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 from 1976

For sale is a Seiko 5740-8000.

The watch is known for being the first Seiko to be sold with a calibre beating at 36000bph. The high beat movement allows the seconds hand to sweep smoothly without much "stuttering".

A higher beat rate also reduce the amount of deviation per day.

There are two main dial variant for the 5740-8000, one with a classic silver sunburst dial and another which features a linen dial decorated with raised Arabic indices.

The example offered here is in mint condition. All lines of the original case remains sharp with no signs of polishing and the dial is in excellent condition. Scratches can be seen on the crystal. (Original crystal can be sourced and replace by request).

The watch will come with a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
