Cartier Santos Carree 2960 Circa 1980 (Serviced)

For sale is a Cartier 2960.

The fruit of friendship and the need for a practical way to tell the time while flying a plane; the Cartier Santos is probably the only watch from Cartier that can rival the popularity of the tank.

The Cartier Santos offered for sale here is the Santos Carree 2960. As compared to the two-tone 2961, the 2960 seems to produced in smaller with lesser examples available for sale.

The Carree collection came before the Galbee with sharper lines. The 2960 offered for sale here features the classic Roman numerals and "Rail-track" minute scale finished in blue to match the hands and 7 facets sapphire crystal embedded in the crown.

The usage of the Cartier automatic calibre 077 (ETA 2671 equivalent) allows the watch to have a slimmer appearance as compared to the larger sized ETA 2824.

The watch case and bezel is in excellent condition with common signs of usage seen. The watch dial is is free from any signs of aging which is extremely rare for this reference. The watch hands are free from any signs of aging. Light scratches can be seen on the sapphire crystal embedded in the crown from certain angles. The crystal is free from any scratches. The watch was serviced in June 2022.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.

Serial number has been covered for privacy.
