Grand Seiko 6146-8000 from 1967 (Early Variant)

For sale is a Seiko 6146-8000.

The early variant 6146-8000 sets itself apart from the later variant with the absence of the "Automatic" printing beneath the Seiko logo and "Grand Seiko" instead of "Hi-Beat 36000" under the GS logo.

These characteristics allows the watch to have a cleaner aesthetic that is similar to the highly sought after 44GS (4420-9000).

Beneath the dial is the calibre 6146 from the 61GS family. The 61 GS family is known as the first group of GS automatic movement beating at 36000bph.

Stringent regulations were imposed on the 61GS family which were regulated to the Grand Seiko standard of -3/+5 sec/day at the time of production.

The watch is in immaculate condition with little signs of usage seen. Light aging can be seen on the dial and hands. The crystal is immaculate condition with little signs of usage seen.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
